You know, I had avoided mention of the disaster in Haiti mostly because it flooded everything for the past couple weeks. Not that I didn’t care, just you already had enough information about how to help and what was going on, you didn’t need any more from me.
Well, the folks over at Urbanite asked me to post up about their foray into the relief effort and here it is. It follows the usual criteria, all proceeds go towards the Haiti relief effort, the part that caught me and one of the main reasons I’m posting it, is that it’s not just “Haiti” slapped across a shirt with some colours. It actually attempts to get the contributor to reach a little deeper and discover something about the people they’re helping. Toussaint Louverture is the main feature of the shirt, the man who really brought about Haiti’s freedom and independence from it’s former masters. But I won’t spoil all the fun, read more about him here and if you want to support an educated Haiti relief effort the shirts drop tomorrow here.
